Katakolon Greece∼ all you need to know for a great holiday!

A collection of interesting tidbits

katakolon sights

Katakolon is a small picturesque fishing village on the west coast of the Peloponnese, where many cruise ships anchor to visit Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games.  Until the end of the nineteenth century this harbour was very important for the export of currants. After the currant trade collapsed, the warehouses were converted into souvenir shops.

Due to its geographical position, it is also the perfect base to explore the mythical western Peloponnese:

A ‘summary’ of Greek history concentrated in one area. Here you will find everything you need to get the most out of your stay in this region, whether your stay lasts one day or much longer…
